Official Release of Snow Integration Manager 5.6

Blog Post created by Myrja.Schumacher Employee on Dec 6, 2017

The connector to IBM’s BigFix system-management software has been overhauled. The connector now creates an inventory report similar to the CSV import of the pvu_sub_capacity.csv file. An opt-in feature has been added to enable inclusion of non-PVU software in the inventory report – data that is not included in the pvu_sub_capacity.csv file.

Enhancements in SIM 5.6

BigFix connector
Based on customer feedback, the connector to IBM’s BigFix system-management software has been overhauled. The connector now creates an inventory report similar to the CSV import of the pvu_sub_capacity.csv file. An opt-in feature has been added to enable inclusion of non-PVU software in the inventory report – data that is not included in the pvu_sub_capacity.csv file.

ADDM connector now includes support for ADDM packages.
Inventory data provided by ADDM is incomplete due to limitations in the ADDM Software Library. To overcome this issue, the ADDM connector now extracts ADDM packages, which contain the raw data about installed applications. When normalized through Snow’s Software Recognition Service (SRS), the package data together with the normalized software titles from ADDM produce an enriched inventory result.

ADDM connector – filter options
Additional filtering options for computers have been added to the connector enabling users to refine results of a search query. Two extra choices - ‘include’ and ‘exclude’ have been added to the existing ‘equals’ and ‘not equals’ filters.

iQuate connector – performance improvement
Performance issues related to the iQuate connector, particularly noticeable in large estates, have been addressed by creating temporary data tables and batch fetching results – live tests show significant performance improvements.

AWS connector – stopped instances of virtual machines are now shown in Snow License Manager

Airwatch connector – Smart Groups enabled
The connector now recognizes AirWatch Smart Groups. When enabled, Smart Groups are fetched from the AirWatch server and presented to the user in Snow License Manager. To import the computers within a Smart Group, select the group and import. Computers belonging to multiple groups selected for import will only be imported once.
