How to check if your inventory is complete

A question that comes up a lot is how customers can know and see if they are getting all the inventory data into Snow or not.


Step 1: in Snow Inventory add all the Active Directories and have all the IP ranges scanned:


Step 2: add computer names from other sources, such as an anti-virus software using the "Discovery data from file" connector in SIM:


Step 3: if you are running computers in a cloud, make sure that all of these clouds are connected via the SIM or using the connector from step 2.


Step 4: is to check the list of devices regularly to see if there are any entries in here that should be inventoried (if the computers belong to your company), and this list could also be imported using step 2 from above.


Step 5: check the results in the relevant reports, such as "Computers that are not inventoried" (the result here should theoretically be empty):


These steps will bring you very close to the 100% inventory status.
