SNOW License Manager reporting false positives

Our engineers are discovering that software that is being reported by SNOW as installed is in fact not installed.


In an effort to stop wasting company resources reconciling non existent compliance issues and prevent future false positives, we would like to know the criteria the SNOW license manager uses to determine whether or not an application is installed on a device or server. 


We anticipate that the initial response will be that the criteria is dependent upon the individual software.

If that is indeed the case, we would appreciate options on what criteria is most likely to be the cause of the discrepancies, i.e. leftover registry data after an uninstall.
