How do people manage their Cals, typically we use User based cals and once you select the Type Cal in the license details you cant do any assignment with it.
When you list all users in Snow you get all the admin account, services accounts etc so you cant quickly use this list to check your Cal compliance.
What would be really nice is to be able to compare the number of Cal licenses purchased with say members of an AD group as a lot of companies have a group that all staff are a member of so that would be a easy check, a self managing solution.
In the past when we were device based i created a zero byte .exe file for each of the cals, eg Windowscal.exe, Exchangecal.exe and then linked the exe to the product and Snow did the rest for me.
Any other ideas/suggestions?
