Does Snow supports Windows server container feature?
this is currently being researched along with Docker by erik.sarnbrink1
Can you provide the use case - i.e. what you would expect Snow to gather / show etc
Thank you for a reply. It will be good to know:
- container recognition on the servers (if this feature is in use)
- an ability to identify applications inside of containers (is it possible to identify)
We're also interested in what Snow is planning in the area of containers such as Docker; so to second what Viktors said we'd like to know which applications are within a container at launch time, and then a view of the duration of the containers so we can establish licence usage.
PS - the search functionality is this forum is case-sensitive! 'Docker' finds this thread, 'docker' does not - this is not a very useful default.
Any update on this thread?
There was this poll last year but it seems to have been abandoned a bit:
Influence Our Roadmap: Are you having challenges with visibility into containers via Docker?
As far as I know, Containers can be used on both Windows and Linux, so a need to gather information from both platforms are needed.
Is it worth creating a SNOW idea for this??? - I think it's something that will become important as Kupernekes etc use increases
did you vote on this page?
I have now! Thanks Mark
