Problems with Snow API

Wondering if anyone else has experienced problems when using the Snow API? We are trying to use Snow data to feed in and combine with other data from separate systems by using API (running a hosted solution so not able to create a custom report that is saved to disk), and run into primary key constraint / "insert duplicate key" errors which seems strange behaviour given that we are running GET commands:

Status: InternalServerError
Content: {"$type":"System.Web.Http.HttpError, System.Web.Http","Message":"Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_tblSystemUserApplications'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.tblSystemUserApplications'.

Had a case opened with support for 7 months on this but they didn't manage to solve anything, and it was eventually closed whilst I was out on paternity leave  so I thought I would check with the community on anyone else has experience, good or bad, using this API?
