We have several servers with the IBM BigFix installed, however Snow isnt picking them up.
It recognises the client and the console but not the actual agents - should these be recognisable by Snow?
if Snow SRS doesn't recognize a special software, you can report this with the SRS template. https://snowprod.service-now.com/support/?id=kb_article&sys_id=5ab8a1060fc212002944f88ce1050ea7 Then they insert this application and the SLM can recognize that.
In SMACC you be able to have a look into the SRS database and you can see if the application is already supported or not.
Thankyou - yes the SRS template is my next option, but to be honest I had expected the IBM BigFix agent would be recognised as the client and console are and because this isn't a particularly unusual piece of software.
You can also create a custom application mapping yourself via the SMACC if you wanted to
Thankyou Ian - I'll have a look into this.
For IBM BigFix, there is typically a central server and a console application, and the BigFix Client is what is deployed to machines to be managed in BigFix
Snow has recognition for IBM BigFix Clients,Server and Console from looking in SMACC recognition
I'm confused as to what the additional agent is that you mentioned? Is that on the same machines as the BigFix client you're expecting to see something else?
I would expect machines with the BigFix client on to show as such as in Snow - if I look at a machine with the BigFix client on in Add/Remove Programs I can see the BigFix Client entry, and that is what Snow also shows. This is also what you also said, so I'm not sure what else would show - to me client and agent are the same thing, unless I'm misunderstanding the terminology?
