SQL Server compliance and license tracking issue?

I have the following issue in Snow License Manager which I cannot explain or solve:

There are three virtual servers that each have a SQL Server Enterprise 2014 Core installation.

Sufficient (4) SQL Server 2016 / 2017 Enterprise Core licenses have been assigned to each of these three virtual servers.

The issue is that none of these servers show up as compliant in either the application overview, the compliance reports and the license tracking reports.

To make matters even stranger, when checking the license assignment each and every machine is reported as having an overassignment of licenses!

Now, the only possible explanation I have for this (without really understanding) is the fact that the host information is missing for these virtual machines. So the vm's are inventoried, but host information is missing.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Would the issue be resolved when the host-guest information becomes available?

Or is something else causing this?
