some of our IPhones won't show their current information ("Info last updated"), but they were seen from SDM ("Info last seen"). But only a few devices, all other work fine. What can I do to update the status of these Phones?
First question is as to whether or not you have allowed users to be able to remove the SDM device management from the phone?
Do you have access to the specific device? If you do Open settings > General and then scroll down and you should see Device Management listed within this Menu.
thanks for your interest.
We only use IPhones, there we can't prevent users from disabling the Snow profile.
But all users know and they have the pushed profiles active, also this mobile.
Supervised mode, active Snow profile, everything seems to be the same with the other devices.
We have also access to the device ("last seen" is always actually) and are able to push apps.
So I don't know the problem with these few devices, they will not update their "Info last updated".
As this is a supervised device you can prevent users from removing the profile, but depending on how you enroll it. If you use DEP, you set it as not removable in the DEP profile.
But the initial question, the status-bar indicates that the system is waiting for the device to connect back. The most common scenario is that the device is on a network(wifi) that has blocked Apple Push services ( TCP 2195 (gateway.push.apple.com) ).
Easiest way to verify is to ask one of the users having a device not communicating back to disable wifi for a few minutes. If the device info updates then you have located the issue.
yes, I know and we will use DEP in the future for the next generation.
This mobile device (and some others not so a long time not uptodate) was since May in many different Wifis and also in the 4G-Telekom-Net used, mostly in our company Wifi, which is used by all other mobiles without any problem.
Some of these candidates having a problem i.e. were abot 3 months not updated and then without any known changes a single updates comes and than for weeks no knew uptodate information...
It seems to be a problem of iOS, but where do we have to look or change?
This information is for me important because we want to know the current used updates / iOS version
Hi All, today I got the actual updates for SDM Server and Manager 5.6.4. After installation the problem devices became uptodate... so I hope in the future there will be no more problem with it.
Thank you for your support,
That's interesting, from what I've found on the current versions it displays SDM latest version as 5.6.2..
I've got the 5.6.4 from the support in cause of my ticket. If you have any problems, contact the support. Because it took a long time, I also tried to get a solution in this community. And I would find out, if more admins know about this problem...
5.6.4 was released on the 15th of November. Release notes are typically found in the Knowledge base at: https://www.snowsoftware.com/support but you can also find it here .
I have made the product owner aware of your finding and they will update current versions as soon as possible.
