We have 6.2 but there has been some issues and we need to reinstall it.
We will be looking to upgrade but at the moment I need access to the data.
this is the link to the older versions of SLM including 6.2: ftp://ftp.snowsoftware.com/SetupPackages/PreviousProductVersions/SLM/
Thank you I will give it a try.
Downloaded great, thank you.
Only issue now is it was working with SQL 2016 but when reinstalling it I needs 2008 or 2012 . It has been working with 2016 for almost 12 months.
Trying to point it to a test box results in 'can not connect to specified SQL Server'
I believe I am in a pickle.
It probably worked on your 2016 SQL because the compability level on the SLM database itself was set to a lower value than SQL 2016.
You might be able to work around this by setting the compability level on the model database. The model database is used as a template every time a new DB is created, and if that is set to level 100 (SQL 2008) you might still be able to install License Manager 6.2.
Read more about it here:
ALTER DATABASE Compatibility Level (Transact-SQL) | Microsoft Docs
I have not tried this myself, but unless you can get your hands on a SQL 2008 this might be worth testing at least.
The database already exists and is level 100.
I have tried to change the model db to 100 also but I still get the error that SQL needs to be 2005, 2008 or 2012.
It is looking like I am going to have to build a new SQL2012 server just for the install and then point everything at the original db.
Following numerous errors trying to reinstall we restored the server to before the uninstall.
Now I get the original error 'Application is not running'. Any suggestions?
