Hello Rodrigo, these are the ports that needs to be opened:
UDP 137 and 138
TCP 139 and 445
There are also some other requirements that must be fulfilled, WinRCP needs to be enabled, and "File and Printer Sharing" needs to be enabled on the target machines.
For more details, see the User guide for the Admin Console, page 24.
Thank you Martin,
I was reading the document and I was unsure about the "In the Inventory Agent list, select which agent to deploy to the object. Available packages depend on selected configuration (previous step).". This item "Inventory Agent" was empty, do you have to move somewhere specific to appear any option in this item?
Hi Rodrigo,
No, the only thing you should need to do is select one or more computers in the Discovery Overview and select "Create Deployment". Then you will start the deployment Wizard, with the "Inventory Agent" Drop down.
That list should show the different Windows Agent versions that can be deployed: (Only windows agents though, deployment cannot be done to Unix, Linux or MacOS)
The physical location of these agent binaries is C:\ProgramData\SnowSoftware\Inventory\Resources\Agent\win32 on your inventory server.
Any new agent releases from Snow will be downloaded by the Snow Update Service which does a check every night to see if there is a new agent binary available.
Go to C:\ProgramData\SnowSoftware\Inventory\Resources\Agent\win32 and see if you have any files there called something like 6.0.2.snowpack.
If not, see if the Snow Update Service has been running as it should, or if there are any errors in the logs. You can also trigger a manual update to see if the resoruces folder is updated with fresh binaries.
