Hi, I've got duplicated servers at all computers list.
Some case server appear five times.
Is there a way to get rid of them?
inside Snow License Manager you can click "Edit computer" and select "Delete".
Or inside report "All Computers" you can select computers which you want to delete and click 3 dots and select "Delete".
You could also ask Snow Support. If they have SQL query which would delete this duplicate computers if you have huge number of them.
But you should first check why this duplicates were created at first place.
there should be a good reason for this. Have you checked if the basic identifiers are the same on the duplicates: computer name, BIOS serial number, site name, domain and operating system? Have you activated the hostname only mode on the Snow Inventory server?
Are you using an image to spin up servers? If yes, possibly this process can lead to multiple duplicates and needs to be checked.
Since a few days we have hundrets of diplicates again. Mostly on Linux Servers (physical and virtual). Also with agent v1.9 as well as 6.x. Most of them are duplicated twice, but there are also servers, which are multiplied up to 8 times.
The strange thing is SLM the default view "all computers" shows also hundreds of records less than the default report for "all computers" does?! In the inv.agentmanifest I see different serials, but I don't believe that we change the serial on hundreds of servers up to 4 times?
Does anyone else have or already solved such problems?
I noticed also duplicate servers in Computer Search and the computer report, but I don't know if that's the same problem you described here.
In our environment I can see this problem for all our Linux Servers with version 7.The Linux servers with version 6 are listed correctly once in "Computer Search" but the Linux 7 servers are listed twice. Interesting for me was, as I grouped by operating system in Computer Search each time one of that duplicate servers was listed with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Server and the duplicated server with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Server (Bundle content)
As I checked that servers in the database under tblcomputers, then that server is listed only once. Strange!
But it is listed twice in Computer Search and also in the report All computers.
So it seems to be a problem of displaying data.
When I then try to archive that computers I get an error message in SLM. That was the first thing I noticed and I created a ticket for that, but have no further information until now. Only later I noticed the root problem seems to be the duplicated computers.
Our SLM version is 9.3.3
